Allan & Djaq
Oh guys, I know this show is so bad, especially the first season, but I have so many feelings about this moment. Allan has spent the whole episode being bone-deep disappointed in his brother Tom, and has even agreed that he can’t be saved, and then, when he’s opened himself to the risk of rescuing him, it turns out they’re too late. We don’t get an awful lot of real vulnerability from any of the leads inĀ Robin Hood, but we get it from Allan least of all. And here he is, hiding from everyone else, crying, and it’s Djaq who comes for him, Djaq who reassures him, Djaq who knows what to say. The moment is actually lovely in part because it’s just silhouette and shadow. I have all kinds of feelings about the relationships and identities I infer from these characters, but this is one set-up, where Djaq is the one Allan opens up to, that I like.
