ELIZABETHAN GRAMMATICAL SHENANIGANS: Thou vs You
So earlier in this post about Early Modern English, I said I’d write a bit about the difference between thou and you. So here’s the post—part linguistic factoids, part about tracking character relationships in Shakespeare’s plays. So hold on to your hats, guys, it’s gonna be A WILD RIDE. (OK that is a slight exaggeration but I did draw some silly cartoons so you should read more.)
