The oxblood docs I brought Joshua<3

Kind of almost went for these (or boots very like these) yesterday, because that cherry leather is just. so. pretty. on Docs. Went with the green instead, though, and remain quite pleased.

my first copy of the queen of attolia literally fell apart several years ago and i kept all the pieces because you don’t just throw books out

but then i made it into shoes

…I haven’t read this book, and supposedly that’s a crime, but on principle: want.

(via intellectual-carrot)

My latest set of Fluevog problems.

The turquoise heels are stunning, and they have the footbed/heel of the Minis, which are phenomenal, if you’ve ever worn them. With so much snow and salt on the ground, though, for $300 I may wait to give them a shot.

The yellow Luxons, I keep wanting to love, but every time I see them in person I’m disappointed. Except now they’re on sale… but it’s not like $200 is cheap for shoes, especially if you’re continually on the fence about them.

The monochrome flats are beautiful, and I bet they fit like a dream, but I would never, ever pay $250 for flats. Never, not matter how great they are. (But they’re so pretty!)

Last week it came to pass that I really needed some new shoes. Tough shoes, but shoes that would still look awesome while I tramp all over Chicago. I’m still deeply in love with these, but it was the purple slightly heel-y boots that came home with me today. I wasn’t sure how they’d look with pants, since I tried them on wearing a skirt and tights, but dang, now I don’t want to take them off. Clearly a good sign!

Incidentally, this is my 2,000th post. Hurrah, Tumblr milestone!

Oh gosh, yes, do want. Where can I find these and buy them and wear them on my feet? I’ve been searching for the right pair of WWI boots forever.

Just a little sketch comic. Click the image to go there! September is here! Fall, and back to school! My birthday is also at the beginning of September, so the mix of feelings gives a particular nostalgia. I was just thinking of those days when back to school and birthdays were so darn exciting. I don’t put a lot of fanfare in birthdays these days, but I remember this one very well.
Our house was heated by wood and we’d get a cord (a bigger pile than I drew) in the fall that would sit outside until my father and uncles would chop it up. Dad often says that even though he was always after us not to climb on it, one of the most vivid memories he has of when I was small is coming home to me sitting on it. I think it made me feel like a lumberjack.

ldjhlszjfh Kate Beaton, stay perfect and great!

Fluevog, it’s not nice to make a girl weep first thing in the morning.
